Serval, Hex and General Compute raise AI rounds

In the week of Oct. 24-30, 2026, three business-AI startups made Crunchbase's list of the biggest US rounds: Serval ($150M, coding agents for enterprise automation), Hex ($100M, AI-native data analytics) and General Compute ($100M, AI cloud). Funding signals vendor runway, not product fit or price.

What changes for operators — If you run sales, support or operations at a 10-200 person company, treat these rounds as a vendor-risk input, not a buying signal. Serval's coding agents, Hex's analytics platform and General Compute's inference cloud all now have money to keep building. Before you wire any of them into a workflow, ask for a pilot on one real process, such as ticket triage or a weekly pipeline report. Get the pricing in writing and confirm you can export your data and logic if the vendor changes direction.

  1. Baselayer Raises $35M to Verify AI Agents Before They Transact

If your company uses AI agents to book vendors, place orders, apply for accounts or otherwise transact with outside businesses on your behalf, this points to an emerging requirement: those agents may soon need a presentable credential proving who deployed them and what they're allowed to do, or they risk getting throttled or blocked as suspected fraud. Nothing is mandatory yet and no dominant standard exists, but companies running agentic workflows against payment processors, banks or e-commerce platforms should watch which credential schemes their vendors and partners start recognizing, since adoption cycles here run 12 to 24 months per Baselayer's own account of onboarding financial institutions and merchants.
