Replit switches Agent default to OpenAI, Claude still available
If anyone at your company builds internal tools, prototypes or automations in Replit, check which model each project actually uses, because the default is what most people end up on. Pick a model deliberately for anything customers or colleagues rely on, and rerun your key workflows after a default change to catch shifts in output quality. Also treat this as a reminder not to tie a process to a single model vendor: Replit calls itself model agnostic, and your own stack should be too. Watch the vendor's changelog for confirmation, since the Anthropic side is still disputed.
Replit switches its default model from Anthropic to OpenAI
If your team builds internal tools, prototypes or automations on a platform like Replit, the model underneath is the vendor's choice unless you set it yourself. Most users never change the default, so a vendor-side switch can alter output quality, cost and behavior without any action on your side. Check which model each workflow actually runs on, select one explicitly where results matter, and keep a small set of test cases you can rerun whenever a default changes.
